Arm

Look at the second photo of Karen Scavatto on this link. Does the bow arm look a little out of the ordinary or is this an optical illusion?

Well I am a novice at archery so I can't comment on her form, but my wife has the same elbow thing. In helping her to golf I noticed her arm does the exact same hyper extension movement. In her case it is when she addresses the ball her left elbow turns a bit counter clockwise and the angle of the elbow joint goes past 180% by about 5% or 10%. Looks painful to me, but my wife says her elbow has always been like that.

I assume this is a similar thing for Karen. I will reveal my ingnorance and say I don't know who she is, but if she is in a national I would assume it causes her no major problem, although I will hold off on trying to mimic that type of follow through. Ouch.

Such hyper extended elbow is biomechanically beneficial for archery. Eg of such elbow is Jang Yong Ho of Korea. I have an elbow that is the opposite of hyper extended, which means when I fully extent my arm, it is still slightly bent, and this is extremely bad. I have to use alot of my tricep muscle to keep it straight at full draw.
