Let's get some info about everyone.

I'm from Andover KS. I'll be hunting in El Dorado, Whitewater, and Circleville this year. I've taken a number of deer, but am still looking for my first P&Y. This is my first year in the Deer Contest. I entered the Turkey Contest in April and had a great time just being involved and was lucky enough to score a bird for my team. Hoping to do the same this fall.

Anybody good at making avatars? We should have one once we decided on a name. Need name suggestions too.

WoodyH28, what exactly are you new to-- hunting, the contest, archery...

Not to worry, I'm new at this contest!! I'm from Shoals, Indiana. I will be hunting in Martin/Greene County. One of the places is next to NSWC Crane and the other is in a river bottom surrounded by bean fields. I've been hunting for nearly 16 years and have taken several doe's and bucks. I have taken one buck that could've scored, but young and dumb got in the way and never got to it. I've been heavy in archery for about 10 years and try to go to every archery 3-D shoot available to me.

I love bowhunting and everything it offers.

Team 15

Hi every one, I hunt Southeast Missouri and Western Kentucky. I got skunked last year. Passed on a doe and a spike the first two days I hunted, then never got another shot all season. Not this year.

Hey everyone, this is going to be great!! Yesterday morning on the way to work I seen a nice 8-10 pt near one of my hunting areas, about a mile from my house!! Probably 17-18" spread, he is one I will be hunting.

I've read the rules and understand them, I'm ready to hunt. Hunting season doesn't come until October 1st here in Indiana...which sucks, cause I'm ready now. Going to all these 3-D shoots is only adding fuel to the fire...

Names for the team???
Brokeback Archers.....just kidding!
Arrow Chuckers
Team Whitetail
Hoove Trackers
Buck Wrestlers
Team Bowhunters
Doe Harvesters (For guys like me!)

Good to see we've got some variety in locations. I enjoy reading stories from different places.

Here's a few more names Dad came up with last night:

Team X-BUX or X-BUCKS (might use the X-BOX or RazorCap logo as an avatar?)
Midwest Magic
Shadow Snipers

Once we get some more guys to check in, we can narrow it down.

Woody, my season doesn't start until Oct 1 either. I think I'm coming down with the fever too! My bow has been getting some work done, so I haven't been able to shoot. Makes the days go even slower.

Mike Lind here from Minnesota! I hunt mostly river bottom land here in central MN. Two Big bucks have been taken in the past 6 years on the land and we're due for one this season! I have pics of a lot of smaller bucks but we'll see. Also get a chance to hunt some new land up north with my recent engagement! Gotta love getting married to a girl whos parents have tons of land and never hunted it! Good Luck guys!

Hey everyone.

I live here in SE North Dakota and have some great hunting spots on my dad's farm. Season starts here September 1, but I've got a little one on the way any day now. Our season last till the first weekend in January so I should get good chances to get out. I've been out scouting a little and have seen some nice ones.

Here's a team name idea:

sndhillshntr, those are some nice deer in the pics. Hopefully you can drop one like that, or better, this season with your bow.

I got my bow back on Friday and have been shooting up a storm. The wife and I are headed to the interactive range this afternoon and I'll get a chance to chrono my new setup.

If I get a chance, I'll try and pm the team members who haven't checked in.

Where are the other 5 or 6 members? Should we PM them?

And what about a decent name? I'm bad at thinking up stuff like that.

doctariAFC checking in... Been busy this weekend with a walleye tournament in Dunkirk, NY. We did well, but got edged out of the money by a measley .07 lbs!

I live in Tonawanda, NY, just NW of the City of Buffalo. I hunt several different areas in WNY and CNY, but I primarily concentrate on the Randolph, NY - Cattaraugus County - area of the western southern tier. Been out scouting and fishing on the property I hunt, and have spotted two very impressive bucks. I hope to have at least one of these monsters (both are at least 8 pt, wide beams) patterned before archery season opens here in WNY on October 14. I also hunt North Collins, Springville, E. Eden, Holland/ Colden and Wheatfield. I may even drop down to Sinclairville this year and put a day or two in to hunt for bucks - and maybe even Bucky - our "folk-hero" escaped convict who is running around the Chautauqua/ Cattaraugus County area since April.

Looks like some good ideas for Team Names are out there. I particularly like the name These Aren't Tranquilizers.....

Whatever name is selected is fine by ol' doctariAFC....

Let's win this thing!
