I started this thread to focus on this bow. This bow intrigues me like no other. I’m dreaming of scope combinations. I’m thinking my Vortex XBR would be perfect. What say you?

Not sure on the other, but I wouldn't "hold my breath" on 1500 or less.....

I like it a lot, if anything changes my mind about no new bow this year, this is the one! But I also want to here more before I say I'm buy'n. As for a scope, compact is the name of the game, the only bow I ever considered the XBR on was the Ventilator, being the largest crossbow I have owned to date along with the Exomag, it seemed at home.

But for this I have a new XB-30 in the safe waiting on a new bow, but in the case this is the new bow,,, I'm afraid I would be pull'n the trigger on the brand new XB-30 Compact,, I think it would be a match made perfect for this compact package. Oh an it would be the 1.5-6X I have no use for more power on any hunting weapon for inside 100 yards, let alone inside 50 or 60 yards.

I here the right details as of now this is what I have in mind, it would be one sweet compact package,,, but we'll have to see how proud Tenpoint is with this new bow.

Nice, intriguing bow. To me, it possibly could be "Ravin done right." I know others will disagree with that.:argue:

One thing that surprised me was how little trouble Ravin had with center serving and that ridiculous string angle. I wonder how the TP will do with that, and how the cocking will work. I'm sure that will be answered quickly, given the # of people who are excited about this crossbow.

They say up to 400 fps, but that is probably with the pro lite arrows. I'm bet'n it will be around 385 with a 400 grain. I am hoping around 365 with a 440 to 450 grain hunting setup.

I think Tenpoint has never about paying for speed, I think all the bows they have had over 1500.00 were the ones with Carbon rails, this appears to be in aluminum, hopefully to keep the cost down, which would be great with me. I prefer the aluminum over carbon. I think like the Nitro, next year we will see this model improved in carbon,, I would prefer this one.

The add says up to 410 fps so we'll see. I also thought I read somewhere this will be a 1499.00 base bow package.

Bluesman - I'm a compact scope guy as well and not too much into "best glass". I tried the XBRs but just didn't see the advantage. Today I have Ten Point's RangeMaster Pro's on all my xbows and that has worked for me on everything I have pointed them at. I'll probably be fine with the TP RMP scope on the NXT unless something new comes along.

I very well may go to an optional ATN digital day/night HD scope for night hunting pigs and coyotes. That could happen.

I would like to see a video of it being cocked by hand...
option for manual cocking, rail , TP warranty ,,,,Ravin
gonna get a run for their money!!!!!
I will sit back, shoot my silver vent, and enjoy reading your reviews!!!!
but I may have to eat some crow (or ravin) for giving Moon such a hard time with
his predictions...

Surprised nobody noticed this but zoom in on the cables. Notably the right side anchor. The cable is badly frayed at the anchor and beyond the serving.you can see the same thing on the left side. The string is worn but appears to be in better shape than the cables. Is this new bow going to be a string and cable eater?

My interest was peaked until I saw that picture. I may have to let you beta testers have first go. I really don't want to have to deal with string and cable issues in a short time. Of course we don't have any idea how many shots were on that bow.

I'm also interested in this bow.
So clt, here's what I'd consider for a scope.
1- leupold patrol. The best choice.
2nd- leupold mark ar mod1 scope.
Non illuminated, but not really needed. The glass is really good. The weight is really where it's at. It's 9.6 ounces.
Really depends on the price, for me.

The last thing I'm looking for on this bow, is the safety lever. What's it like? Small, large, slide, swivel, or push?

I have a Leupold Patrol with firedot in the safe. That may be an option too. How about with an HHA? I am in love with the Leupold Vendetta II also.

I also had the thought how sweet this bow would be with the Ravin Helicoil and the rail. But this one may be just as good. I just love that it has the rail and Tenpoint customer service.

This question is for Randy. I have owned both the Stealth SS and currently the Venom crossbows, Is there a chance TenPoint can coat the steel bolts and other hardware to prevent rusting when exposed to rain. I know I have talked with Lone Wolf Tree Stands and they use a special finish to prevent this. I have tree stands that have been out for years and show no rust on the hardware.

I have an excellent solution for rust. I tear every bow down when I get it, wipe all my hardware down with acetone and then with an oily rag and Q tips I coat them with STI-321, it is an oil that penetrates the metal, and reinstall it with blue loctite. I do 2 things, rustproof my hardware, and asure it never comes loose. This oil was designed for NASA, and not only lubricates but embeds its self into the metal and protects. I have bows that I hunt with in all weather, snow rain, they sweat from cold to warm, and after 3 years no rust. If I did this every year I would never worry about rust.

It is superior to any oil or rust preventative I've tried, and safe around plastics, just clean any threads after applying and before you treat them with the loctite.

personally I want it short and narrow, but please be over 8#, I don't care if it's a Silhouette rifle, hunting revolver, or Crossbow, for offhand accuracy and stability I prefer mine to have a little heft to em, I just shoot em better off hand, and can steady them better than lightweight weapons.
