That would be hard to say!

I have had the outback and the Lx and loved them both. Now i have a legacy and I am sure i will be hanging onto it for a while.

But I know the Mq1 is still very popular even though they were discontinued. The new switcback looks incredible.

If I was in the market to buy a brand new bow, that would be the one I would probly pick.

The Q2 and the Q2XL look great too. Really just depends on what you like and what you want it for.

You know, i used to be hooked on Conquests. I loved that bow series! Then I sold both that I had and bought an Ovation. Its a great bow. Then a few days ago I held and fondled this old Conquest that my hunting buddies buddy brought over and thought.....'man! I've been missing out the last year!' I guess i'm still hooked on Conquests. I like the smooth draw of the Ovation, but those Conquests seem to have a certain feel to them.

first, you cant really just ask a blanket question like that, it depends on what you want the bow for. the ovation is designed for target, the black maxII for speed. The lx is a good all around bow, so you need to decide what you want to do with the bow before you ask what the best one it. Secondly, just give up and buy a HOYT! :D

It depends on what you're looking for. For treestand hunting in the thick stuff where maneuverability and forgiveness count, the Outback is the deal. For a 3D/hunting rig where you're mostly hunting big timber the Switchback. For competition the Conquest. Depends on what your needs are.

The BEST Mathews bow is.........

........the one that you feel the most comfortable shooting, will give you consistently good results and you will practice with.

I know guys that hunt with an Ovation (in target color no less) and I know guys that shoot spots and 3D with an Outback.

You've got to find a pro shop that will work with you and set up several bows to test. Shoot as many as you can, side-by-side. The BEST bow will be the one that chooses you.

I asked this question on the mathews forum and I'd say the most popular replies were the LX, Conquest, MQ1 by far. There were some Legacy, Q2XL, outback, and ovation posts as well.

As other's have said I think it depends on what you want from the bow and how it feels with your own personal dynamic.

But I can say the most popular bows I seem to hear about from them are the LX, and MQ1, and for pure target the conquest of course. The MQ1 comes up a lot on posts asking about a bow people have sold and wished they'd have kept.

Gotta throw in my $.02. If I had to have just one bow from Mathews I think it would be the q2xl. I was rather fond of the Feathermax's and shot good 3d scores with it but the q2xl is so versatile and if you don't a little longer bow, this would be the one. I have an LX and an Ovation now, just got rid of a Con2 and regrettably traded my q2xl a while back. I will be buying another one unless I grow fond of the Ovation. The best way is to shoot as many as you can and let your body decide for you.

Good luck
