How many times have you seen a bow listed in the classifieds where the seller is states something like "Awesome bow! The best shooting, most accurate bow I've ever shot". Only $500 TYD!

I've seen plenty. My question is, why would someone want to part with the best shooting bow they ever shot, and on top of that, sell it for nearly half what they paid for it within less than a year of buying it??? Some of these ads would make a used car salesman blush.

What would be some legitimate Reasons for selling the best shooting, most accurate bow you ever shot?.............

*To buy a newer model of the same bow?....(yet many in these listings are the newest model available.)

*The wife (BOSS) told me she would leave me if I didn't sell it?

*I just can't bring myself to be seen in public anymore with brand "X"?

What say you?

Good answer! This is probably the most common reason. My PSE Omen is the fastest and one of the most accurate bows I've ever shot, but I'm thinking I can give up just a few feet per second for a bow that won't take my arm off if I creep forward the least little bit. I'm thinking the Darton 3800 might be the ticket..... I just picked up a used Darton 2800 and OMG! The draw, valley, and wall put my Omen to shame! If the 3800 feels anything like the 2800, and shoots as accurate as my Omen, without giving up a lot of speed, I just may sell the best shooting bow I've ever shot.....(that is, until I tried the Darton).

I recently am in this position, selling an obsession defcon m6, awesome bow. Was shooting it great but in the back of my mind a halon was calling so I caved in and tried one. I am now shooting it better than my m6, not that it's a better bow but that it fits me better. It's not usually the case where an upgrade is necessarily better but in this case it worked out.

I'm guilty as charged. I buy and sell stuff all the time. eBay is the worst. It enables my bad habit. I can sell stuff quickly and for a decent price.
With that being said, two years ago I bought a Remington 700 300 win mag. That thing will never be for sale. It's the most accurate on a budget gun gun I've ever owned. I had a guy at the range offer to buy it for 300 more than I paid for it the first day I was sighting it in. That thing is stuck with me for life.

Simple....it's a hobby and an obsession no matter how much you like it your always wanting to experience and try something else. Kinda like car junkies or even sex junkies. Always need that next one after you've played around with this one for awhile. I never seem to keep the same bow long. Glad I'm a bow junkie and not a sex junkie or my woman would throw my ass out the door, lol

It's not all just lies, I sold my bow earlier this year. I shot great with it, I really liked it, it was my favorite bow that I've ever owned. Just got the urge to try something different. 2 bows and about a month later I bought my original bow back(same model anyway)

A lot of it is just the need to switch things up or have the latest and greatest. I got it out of my system

I dunno, I had a PSE Source that was the best most accurate bow I ever shot, and I traded it away. But I just picked up another one with the poundage and finish I originally wanted. There's all kinds of honest reasons why someone would sell their favorite bow.

What is the difference in the public trying to sell their bows and the Bow Manufacturer selling you the bow. What line do they use --every year?

I had a MQ1-- great shooting bow. Shot some of my best scores with it. But Technology forced me to get the vibration dampening. I have had a back operation since the MQ1 days. Just like I use Graphite shafts for golf. Easier on me.

Maybe that why I still have my 2007 pse hf 6 I bought in 2007 .just can't part with a bow that shoots this good for me.

I know I sell and buy way too many bows.....I'm definitely guilty...I regret selling some really ,but it enables me to try something else....I really do enjoy setting them up and tinkering getting them to shoot like the one I just sold....lol.....I'm an idiot....lol

but on the other side, there are many like me when i was younger, who sold new bows maybe twice a year, just because???? and yes there where a few i should never sold, simpley because i thought the grass was greener you no where. when i was a staff shooter many years ago for pearson, i got a new bow every year free, plus any bows i wanted a factory cost.

It's a hobby for me. I enjoy setting them up, trying them and then moving on to another. I do have two right now that I will keep - but five others that will probably move on. Minimal shots on all, but I enjoy it. And even if I lose money, I see it as an entertainment expense. Still cheaper than sitting in the bar.
