the extinction of Carbon Express recurve arrows

I realize this is a couple years after the fact-I was setting up some outdoor arrows for one of my top junior ladies and I recalled I had a set of the CE Nano Pros that would fit her-I got these on closeout from LAS and they sat-somewhat forgotten-on the top of a shelving unit in my range. I had mainly bought their 700 spine 9.3 arrows when they were available-great for 3D recurve archers and one of my top graduates (now at Cumberlands in her senior year) shot the SSTs in High school. I never do recall why CE dropped its recurve line given they seemed to be well made and competitive with Easton's top stuff. Anyone know? thanks

Pretty much this. I can also assume the quality has gone down as well. Easton is definitely the leader in OR to the point no one else wants to compete in that space.

The first OR setup I bought (in this century) when I decided to give it a second try, came with a dozen CE arrows. I still have them somewhere.

I still get adverts from Feradyne and it's all hunting and compound stuff. I've tried to unsubscribe but I don't think that's ever going to happen. I still have some Medallion XR's in 1100 (takes .187) and Predator II's in 800 (takes .203). Try finding anything for those arrows! CE and Feradyne are not welcome in this house anymore. - 40N

Archery school of the Rockies in Colorado springs still has a decent selection of all types of ce nano arrows if you are interested.

As to why feradyne got rid of a high quality product, that's just how private equity firms operate- extract as much profit from a company, cut anything that's isn't a profit driver, fire anyone and everyone you possibly can, and sell the used-up husk of that company to the next sucker. There's a few PE firms that actually try to help companies and own them long term, but they're the exception.

Years of testing and infinite discussions about features of Nano Pro, then a Gold Medal in London 2012 by my son with prototypes of the Extreme; the Italian team all using Extremes after then, as well as many other top level around the globe. And SST being the only real alternative to ACE's.
CE Mission was to make the best possible arrow for recurve shooting, and they have been very close to this, and for compound as well ( and they were already at top for it)
Incredible waste of a multi-year investment that was finally ready to give some return.
The few times my daughter still shoots Olympic, her SST 1000 remember me what they were and they are not anymore.

My daughter also used their SST 1000's to great effect. As someone who was possibly the earliest adopter and advocate of the Nano, and who shot >340 in competition at the 2012 Olympic trials with the Extreme prototypes, it is incredibly sad that CE abandoned this effort.

I will never forget showing the NPX prototypes to two of the top US compound archers in Louisville in 2013, only to have one of them (you can guess which one) scoff at me and say they would NEVER shoot a NPX over an X10. Then, all of the sudden, guess what they were shooting. LOL CX had in fact cracked the code and made an arrow that could not only compete with the X10 but in fact, beat it. But even that wasn't enough to overcome the deep pockets of the 500 lb. Gorilla that has run this sport for nearly half a century.

After dropping a few pounds in weight, I switched back to A/C/E's for outdoor, but my PB 70M scores and three national championship barebow titles at the 2015 Outdoor Nationals were all shot with those prototype NPX's. I still shoot CX's indoors, when I have the chance to shoot, and will be sad when I can no longer use them.

For those looking for pin bushings for their NPX's, try Beiter Out Nocks instead. Thats what I ended up using from 2012-2015 with my NPX's and they were simply outstanding.
