i noticed he had what looks like a tumer or growth spot on his right rear leg, just wondering if this would have anything to do with why his rack is so messed up on his left side. I've heard before that injures can affect antler growth.

Yep

Normally abnormal antler growth on one side usually indicates injury on the other side. You hit the nail on the head, looks like a tumor or a former broken leg.

Yeah, he has a bad hind leg opposite the spike. He will probably always have a weird rack unless that heals up.

Absolutely correct. I'm a deer farmer and have seen a ton of deer with injuries to their legs that result in deformed antler growth on the OPPOSITE side of the injury.
