Have been reading this publication for probably 25 years. Hate to see it go. It’s been a good run Petersons Bowhunting.

If you look up Outdoor Sportsman Group and check their brands you will see that they controlled two bow hunting print brands so they are dropping one. Likely their print side of the business is shrinking quickly. They do control both Sportsman Channel and Outdoor Channel as well. They have a big slice of overall hunting and fishing media. Consolidation so I wouldn’t feel sorry for them.

The more publications, the more we are in the public eye. The stronger the support for our cause and what we stand for as outdoorsman and conservationists. If more people would realize this and ditch the digital world it would greatly improve our image. I am much like the post above and prefer the hard copy. Brings me back to simpler times. Just my opinion.

I am an overseas subscriber for both, Bowhunting and Bowhunter. I have been a subscriber of Petersen's Bowhunting Mag since 1991 I think. Only missed a few issues during recent years, because their online renewal system had some bugs, and instead of just renewing subscription, I had to start new subscription as a new suscriber.
For some reason, I still prefer printed magazines than online ones. Maybe I am a dinosaur
I am going to miss receiving it ....

The publications will only influence those who subscribe, either print or online. Hunters and anglers, for the most part, will be aware of issues that affect them whether they subscribe to magazines. I subscribe to two magazines but not renewing as each article is nothing more than an advertisement for rods, reels, line, lures, etc. I really don't care what Me An' Joe stories used to catch fish. Does it mean that other lures won't work? BTW, print is going the way of the dinosaur. Our local paper is now Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. I get the news faster by checking a local TV station online each day; sometimes twice a day. A local paper mill went from newsprint to toilet paper. I guess this was based on demand.

After a long hiatus, I'm just now getting back into bowhunting. I'm old enough to remember the change that occurred with Bowhunter when James sold it. Given that, plus that I shoot old Hoyt ProVantage compounds instinctive with fingers, are there any magazines left that are good to subscribe to? It's like I'm stuck in a in-between world, not really a Traditional shooter, but not into modern, short compounds using a release. Still Bowhunter?
