I would have shot higher on the animal than that but it sure worked. That deer looked relaxed and I would have waited for him to put his head back up so his body wouldn't have been so contorted and the quartering angle wouldn't have been odd. That shot likely made it hard to "aim for the exit" as i've been taught.
