No need to worry about that...deer hair holds air so dead deer float! I know this from hunting a bottom that was flooded by beavers for years.....150 yards wide, but shallow. We'd recover deer on the other side lots of times and float them across by just holding an ear and wading along with them....even with a hole (don't gut them first!)
