Does anybody know why Tradtech is no longer affiliated, nor any post relating to Tradtech Archery allowed on Tradgang?

IMO...........Tradgang is run by a bunch of loonies and they control their site with an iron fist. Lots of folks have been removed permanently from the site due to insider politics, so I walked away a few years ago in a self-imposed exile. AT can be rowdy and challenging at times, but it takes a lot to be banned and then only for a time to chill out. Maybe someone from Lancaster could fill you in on some accurate details, as you won't get it from the TG moderating crew. :thumbs_do

It doesn't take much to get booted, or a thread pulled, over there. They just pulled one about a guy looking for advice whether he should trade his Hoyt compound for a Black Widow. They like to pretend only their narrow version of "trad" exists.

I did not know that the website Tradgang was the same as TradTec, the bow makers.

You'll probably get banned from there for posting that here...

charlie lamb ( I think) doesnt get along with the LAS people from what I heard so he banned Tradtech from the site, the one mod said they want to limit exposure. I dont post much over there any more. Like here and tradtalk more for info. But what ever

hmm, kinda weird I suppose. I love shooting my grandfather's hand me down recurve, and the longbow someone GAVE ME from Tradgang, I also like shooting my dad and grandfather's crossbows and my own compound. Just as I enjoy my good old Remington 870, and my muzzle loader lol, I am not picky at all. I did get a lot of dirty looks when I mentioned that I shoot a compound at the local trad archery shop. From my experience most of my buddies that shoot compounds exclusively aren't rude about my choice of taking my recurve once in a while, in fact some of them are very impressed and have even tried to shoot it a few times, I cannot say the same about the guys I know who shoot trad-they stick their nose up at my compound and families crossbows.

Yeah, so I'm the latest fella to have a less than sweet experience at Tradgang! I joined the forum and my FIRST post was an INTRODUCTION...you know just saying who I am, my archery background and I mentioned I owned two recurves and a BEAR ATTACK...guess what!?!?!?!?! I get a PM from the Admin saying my post is being deleted for violating the terms!!! Well, I asked for an explanation, cause I read the terms and what I got out of it was "no discussions/threads off topic" NOT "never ever mention even in passing." BOWISM?! Funny thing was I had someone else on the forum welcome me and everything, real friendly. Then I get stomped. Some welcome?! Anyway, I read one of their stickies on the topic of "newbie posters" and it does have a list of "UNMENTIONABLES", but really I think it's a little un-American and Draconian if you ask me. We'll see. I sent a friendly reply after my initial frustrated reply and hopefully I won't get banned right from the outset. :::shrug:::

Ooh I am fuming a little bit...I did a search on the Trad gang forum just now for advice about traditional broadheads...I uncovered all kinds of posts talking about hunting with compounds and "wheelies"...all of which had not been pulled...looks like the filtration isn't as efficient...I SO have the urge to start flagging those posts for removal...make a game out of it, but my maturity is yelling at me not to be that way....

I was on Tradgang for a couple of years. I was a Contributor, gave goods and services to the St. Jude's Charity, and paid $150 to be in the TGMM Family of the Bow.

I supported the site in every way I could.

Then, one day, I can't get on. I send emails asking if it was a glitch. No response.

I sent emails asking if I had broken a rule and was temporarily suspended, no response.

I sent emails asking if I had offended some inividual or a Moderator, no response.

I sent emails offering to make amends, no response.

Others on TradGang asked the mods to include Terry Green, about me, no response.

Others on TradGang, made posts like: "Where's Raging Water"? Those posts were deleted.

********All I wanted was for them to have the courage to contact me. Just have the manhood to send an email response.

Nope, no response.

Matt

One of the reason's I left many of the Trad sites was the elitist attitudes....I have no time for it.

I asked if anyone had ever used any of the ozone generating products and had the same thing happen, said it was too " gadgety" I had no idea that was any big deal, I wasnt selling or even reccomending, just asking if anyone had ever used one, I bet the " too gadgety " comment came from a IPhone in a pop up blind running moon phase hunting simulations

Well, now if you want to look for used trad bows on there you have to be a contributing member, $20 a year I believe. Not sure I'm gonna pay it, I can get on tradtalk and leatherwall as well and not have to put up with some of the nonsense from some of the TG community. I've had some great dealings with some of the guys over there, I think the mods need a drink or two before they log on, you know, to settle their nerves lol

Havnt been on that site in awhile. Might have to stop in and give it a look. The mods are power hungry as hell though

A year or so I tried to list a bow for sale in the classifieds on Tradgang. I was told the minimum requirements for a member to post a bow for sale was 100 posts in the forums. I told the moderator if he would stop deleting my posts that referred to compounds I would have plenty of posts:) He didn't find the humor in that:wink: Those guys are real uptight over there.

I was number 63 of the members to sign up for Trad gang. Out of no where I couldn't sign back in. Like you guys said, no response telling why or if I did something to break there pissy rules. That bunch of guys running it are just the reverse of what traditional archery is all about. Before Tradgang ever was, the guys that started the site bashed me on the leather wall for asking a question about bow speed.

Apparently nobody on TG has questioned......"Where is the money going?" Members need to pay $30 per year just to view the classifieds. If only 10,000 of the members pay it, that is $300,000. After 14 years I made the comment the Clark's Broadheads are not broadheads. Boom! I was gone.

I was a longtime member there and loved their classifieds. When they put out that they were going to start charging the fee to use the classys it seemed everyone loved the idea. The mods claimed it was to keep the members safe from scammers, as if it were an actual problem. Personally I was against it and voiced my opinion. I got run off that site real quickly because I told everyone the truth. The fee has nothing to do with protection, its simply an excuse to get an incredible amount of money for something thats been free for a long time and working just fine.
