Trail camera rules in your state?

I'm not sure how much traffic this section gets but would love to lean on the community to try and get a good 50 state feel for the trail camera rules of their state. I've done some Internet research but many F&G/W&P agencies do a pretty poor job with clarity and transparency. With the ongoing discussion and confusion in Iowa, Kentucky, etc I was just hoping to tap the local knowledge.

We have a continuing discussion here in Kansas after the total ban of all cameras on department owned or managed lands (state public).

I'll start: Kansas - Year round ban on cameras (cell or standard SD card) on Public ground. The ban also extends to our 'WIHA' program which is private land that is leased by the state to provide public access. No restrictions on private property.

I think the general Tennessee rule for WMAs is "no personal property left unattended for more than 24 hours without permission of that WMA manager." This is very similar to the interpretation in Iowa that blew up this summer before the Iowa DNR reversed their interpretation.

It's also my understanding that essentially all WMA managers have general auto-approvals for tree stand and trail cams. Be curious if you hear differently.

Minnesota- Trail cameras are not allowed to be left overnight on WMAs. Technically you could put one up but would have to remove it by the end of the day.

State forest lands they are allowed but are considered abandoned after 14 days. There’s some gray area on what they consider “checking in on it” means. Do you ever so slightly tilt the camera to show you were there to check it?

WI, can be left out on state land but needs to have your name and address or DNR number on it. Which of course none ever have.

Hope they move towards banning them as they have in your state. There are way too many out there nowadays. You can’t leave stands out in Southern WI so i don’t see why you can litter the woods with 12 trail cams?

In Indiana you can use sd card trail cameras or cellular on private and public ground. With that being said I’ve also heard they were going to ban them on state ground , which would be true because in the after season survey I received last year there were a few questions regarding trail cam use on public land.
