I was wanting to get some opinions on the tree lounge bowhunter climber. It looks really comfortable but looks like a pain to hook up and take down. If anyone has this climber please give me your opinion on it.

Climber

Hey it is the cats Meow!! After you learn how to set it up and take it down its easy. The only thing thats not easy is staying awake!!You can stay all day its Great the only thing is be sure and get the taper adapter for the stand and the foot climber.

I have one but I am going to be buying a Summit for this coming year I hate having to carry around 35lbs. on my back it is noisey as can be but very comfortable. I don't regret getting it; it is great once you get up the tree but packing it in and setting up could be a bit easier and quiet for my liking.

they are nice but save you money

they are very heavy, balky, hard to put up and noisey also. they are hard to carry through the woods. i also think they work great with a rifle but for bow it not as good. you will have to have step angle (wich is not safe) so you can stand up wich in cause move ment and make the stand cause noisy.

i also dont like to stick out from the tree you are about 6-8 foot from the tree so when a deer comes from the side you look like a big branch and when you move it bounce.

if you want a stand to leave in the woods and to sleep in ok. but if you want something moble and for bow hunting i will pick a lone wolf

tree lounge

I have owned mine since 1992 hunted countless hours out of it, it is very safe can climb all kinds of trees, very comfortable,BUT heavy and bulky , I bought a babt lite from timber tall treestands out of PA, same concept, as for the leveling part except 22lbs lighter, buy a timbertall stand you'll love it I can send you picks of both set up on a tree any question e mail me.

TreeLounge

If you are only hunting a couple hours(BuckShot Equalizer) at a time save your money. But if you want to hunt all day the TreeLounge is the only stand there is.

I have had one for about 15 years and bout the new model when it came out. The new model is alot lighter than the old. about 24 lbs with bow adapter. I sold both of these 3 months ago and bought a Summit Goliath X4. I slept more than I hunted in the tree lounge

I had one and the only thing I liked about it was the comfort, everything else about them stinks, in my opinion, They are heavy, noisey, hard to set up and standing up on the archers platform isn't to bad if your going to hunt 3 or 4 feet off the ground, but when you get 15 to 25 feet and try to stand up on that wabally sucker it's no fun at all. I bought me a sumit vipor and I think it is just as cofortable and it doesn't weigh 50 pounds. Hopes this helps.

Great for all day only!

:p For the money they aren't worth it. I had one and it was heavy, noisy, and a pain to set up and take down. If I was going to gun hunt all day I would use it but for bowhunting I'll stick with my API's. Mark. JOHN3:3

Same song...second verse

LX-

Without sounding too much like a broken record...I have a good friend that I hunt with and he owns the Tree Lounge. He would echo everything that you've heard here. Everytime we go into an area to hang stands, he comments on how heavy, bulky, and noisy his Tree Lounge is to put up (not to mention it's cumbersome in the dark too). Each time we go, I am so thankful I bought an Ol' Man Vision (packs flat, easy to hang on a tree-even in the dark, and it's relatively light). My buddy has the bowhunting attachment on his stand, it just adds extra time to his set up and gives you more parts to make noise if you don't secure it properly. His comment is that if you have a place (private land) where you're not worried about a stand being stolen, then a Tree Lounge wouldn't be a bad route to go cause you could leave it attached at the base of a tree, hop in, and climb. He loves the comfort it affords to hunt all day, but, if you're looking to hunt multiple areas with the same climber, then follow the advice you've heard on this post...go with something else (Ol' Man, Summit, etc)

Tree Lounge

...same for me. Had a Tree Lounge...just too much for everyday in and out of the woods. Also have a Summit Viper. Much lighter, simpler, quieter, VERY comfotable. The one thing that I didn;t like about the Tree lounge, was that I always felt "way out there"...far away from the tree, and sticking out like a sore thumb! I like having the tree close to help with the concealment and not be so "outlined". My .02 worth.

The old tree lounge stands were very heavy but the new ones are light weight. I own a brand new 2004 stand but have hunted out of the old ones in the past. There is no comparison between the tree lounge and other stands. If you really want to know the difference between the tree lounge and other stands sit and watch tv in your house in your recliner all day and then sit in your straight kitchen chair all day and tell me which one you would prefer. If you chose the recliner then you want a tree lounge. There is no safer stand to own; it can't fall off the tree. As far as noise maybe on the ground busting brush but not in the air they don't move once they are set; there is no noise. Check out their website and look at the photos of them hanging off that thing, and thats not a lie I have seen guys demonstrate it for me when I was first going to use one. None of the other stand can climb a metal pole, but the lounge can.

Also I forgot to add we never carried them in every morning we would set them the day before and cable them with combo locks to the tree. Every stand had the same combo so any of us could use them. All you had to do was go out unlock it and climb up. As far as being out in the open and not conceled. Just don't cut every branch out of the way. Be a little selective and if you hunt higher than ten feet you don't have to worry about being seen. I hunt 25 to 30 feet up and haven't been spotted yet. Two years ago I made a shot at a doe forty some yards out and immediately after she trotted off another doe walked out at thirty yards never saw me moving, and I was moving trying to see if she went down or not. She could hear me because she was looking in my general direction but not up that high. I could have shot her too if I had two tags. She just slowly walked off.

You could also climb the tree with steps and set the stand in the tree among the branches for concealment. I have hunted with them that way before as well.
Me personally, I prefer to be comfortable so I can stay all day rather than miserable the whole time and only stay for three or four hours.
