id rather be 25 ft. the higher the better. 12 ft is ok but it is too low for me. 15 with cover would be better. 20 or higher with none

i no but dont have a tall enough climbing stick and cant find any good trees but there are a few that are like 12 but with good cover

I would take 8' with cover over 25' without. I don't believe that deer only look down. They can pick up movement from anywhere and when hunting pressure picks up they get more wary and skittish.
