I got a new Tribute last week. I have a couple more questions about it.

1.) Are string leeches lighter than the hush kit things already on the string? Would I gain anything by replacing them?

2.) It is a 29" draw and 70 pound bow. With the speed mods, I get 308fps with a 350 gr arrow. Isn't that a little slow for an IBO of like 328? On the string are 2 Hush kit deals (2 on string and 2 on cables), D loop, and a Tru Peep. With the smooth mods, it got 301fps with the same arrow.

3.) Is there an optimal place on the limbs to place the hush kit things? Near the cams, near the limb pockets, in the middle, or take them off?

4.) How much more noise would it make if I took the hush kit off?

before & after

I believe the stated IBO is done before anything is added to the string; silencers, peep, etc. So what you are getting is real world speed. Take off the silencers & see what you get.
Yes there generally is an optimal place to put the afore mentioned stuff but as far as noise you would probably need a decibel meter to tell.

I have an old glory and I removed all the factory hush kit and put on ultra limb savers and string leeches. I found a slightly noticeable difference with the limb saver stuff. As for your speed issue, I think the IBO does their measurment with a 31" arrow so mayebe the 2" difference gains that much. What does the birth certificate say on your Tribute?

I'm no expert ostate but I can tell you from experience that I took the hush kit off of my Tribute (just didn't like the way it looked:pukey: ) and added a STS type system and limb saver ultras and I think it's as quiet if not quieter than before with even less vibration (which was almost none to begin with) and I gained a few extra FPS to boot.

IBO is with 30" DL so your loosing about 10 fps with that as well

Well like said already Ibo=328
Actually its 320-328 so you are on the high side
You are shooting 29" -10 fps
dloop -2
peep -5
hush kit -3
= 308
sound like right on the money
take off the string silencers and you will be around 311-312fps

You may as well take the factory string silencers off because they will soon fall off anyway. At least mine did. i put on the String leeches and they hold up great. I got the newer ones that are for compounds and crossbows. I also took the silencers off the limbs and put on limbsavers. I feel they look and work better. That speed sounds about right. My 70' Tribute at 28" draw with speed mods is 303 at 5 grains per lbs.

Yep take them off. THey are about 30grns each so u would lose 60grns from the string. Mine fell apart after about 1000 shots on my Tribute. I put an STS on and as stated above the bow is atleast as quiet as it was with the Hush kit on the string.

Hope this helps,

I don't think the leeches will make much difference in speed. I would wait until the hush kit is gone. I have several thousand shots on my Tribute, and the string silencers are still on (at least most of them). They work fine, but sometimes come off quick.

What did the BC say? Either way, it is about right. At 29", your BC should be 310 to 318 with the speed mods. Mine read 314. The BC is done with the hush kit and nock set. You added the peep, so that would probably nock off a few fps, maybe 5. So, if the BC was 313, 308 is about right with the peep on. Very good speed.

My bow is quietest with the limb silencers close to the cams. You can experiment, and may get more speed with them right next to the riser, but I notice a decent noise difference, so put them all the way up close to the cams. I think the Outdoor life test had the Tribute as loud because the rubber is right next to the riser in the pic. I think if they moved them out, it would have been close to the quietest, like most people assess.

I think a good bit. Still a quiet bow, but if you just take it off and don't add anything, it will definitely be noticable. If you add an STS or limbsavers, it will counteract it. The hush kit works for me, and I like the different looks, so it stays for me.
