I have one...Solid construction and excellent fit and finish. The strap is made of quality leather...The only hesitation I have with it is that the jaw is loose after the shot so, one would have to kinda flick the wrist a couple of times to open the jaws before hooking it onto the string. It is not a flaw, but in stress situation when you have to hook on fast, you do not have time to fiddle with the jaws. I am getting better with it, being practicing for a month or so. It has probably the crispiest trigger with no play at all. It comes with two springs to adjust how heavy you want the trigger and an adjustable barrel for length....I would highly recommend it if you don't mind the "wrist flick"....

I got one in this fall and am really enjoying shooting with it. I have been a hinge shooter for years and have not even considered a index trigger release until I heard about this one. The fact that it has the same high end internals as a good thumb trigger is what I had been waiting for. I wanted a very light trigger that had no creep and I wanted to have a reset button just like a good thumb trigger.

Coming off the 3d season I had a few months here to shoot a new release so I chose this one and I really didn't have to many big expectations, I love being a hinge shooter so really wasn't looking for a change. I help index finger shooters learn how to execute them on a regular basis so this was a good time to spend shooting one so that I could help them even more when asked.

I actually reset my peep on my target bow to my anchor position with the execute and committed to shooting with it for the fall and I have been overly happy with the execute. I am using a very simple firing engine to fire it without pulling the trigger and I am shooting with my normal float, I really wasn't expecting to have pure surprise releases but I am finding that my shot window has shrunk compared to my hinge shooting window but even though it is smaller my surprise as it fires is staying very pure and good.

One of the things that I really like is that I am settling in on the 12 ring and once I start my execution the arrow is gone pretty quick and most of the time it happens during my good float pattern. With a hinge over the years I watched that good float pattern slip by and I ended up shooting with a progressively worse one.

I do not like the fact that the hook is floppy and it does stay shut many times and you have to flick it open, to me they should have put a little magnet in there so it stays open after you shoot and then when you push the reset button it would close.

I used mine all hunting season ...it is an awesome release ...the jaw not staying open after the shot like mentioned above is easily overcome with a pre shot routine ...

It is by far one of the crispest triggers on the market along with the carter 2shot and Hamaskea Pronghorn

Yes mine was in the tree stand last night. I practiced hooking it up to the D-loop before using it this season. It isn't tough even with gloves. A stiffer D-loop material makes it easier. My Center X is with me as well for backup!

I have one(aren't too many releases I don't own) I use this one as a back up to my main shooter which is a Carter 2 Shot, as Padgett mentioned it has the same excellent interals that a good handheld has as well. I contacted TruBall and they sent me the heavy duty spring free of charge(great CS I must say). I like to switch up releases, I believe it helps keep me honest and my form in check. I only use high end releases since they use the best sears - I will only shoot a release that has at least 2 sears, my Carter 2 Shots have 3. These are far superior to any bargain basement wrist rocket.

I just got one yesterday. I like a bit more trigger resistance than as shipped. I went through the adjustment process and couldn't get it to move much even with the red spring. I am looking for about 3 to 4 lbs of pull and the most I can get is 1 1/2 lbs. I started by setting the trigger travel to the minimum setting and then cranked down the sensitivity screw. Then did the same with the red spring.

I was told by a Tru Ball tech before I bought it, I could get up to 6 lbs with the red spring.

Anybody know what is going wrong on this?

Mine did not come with the heavy spring, had to call them up. I know I'm getting more than 1.5lbs - I'll put it on the scale to measure...

I got one last night and it came with the red spring. I have a hard time changing releases, but thought I would try this. The strap is great, release built solid, easy to adjust, but I just hate the way you have to load it. I struggled with it the whole time. Each time I thought I had a system down the dang jaw stayed close. I don't think it was any better than mine now ( the Overkill release). Also not any worse.

Update. I contacted TruBall on the low trigger resistance with the red spring. They sent me two new red springs to try. Neither one made any difference. The most I could get was about 1 1/2# and that is too little for me. Going to continue to use my Carter Like Mikes and return the Execute.

If I liked a light trigger pull, I think this would be a great release. It is high quality. Really nice strap. Just not the design I thought it was.

Might want to see about sending it back to TRU Ball and let them take a look at it.
Customer Service is TOP NOTCH for them.

Too late. Returned today. I contacted TruBall before buying and was told up to 6# of resistance was designed in this release. I bought it and had trouble exceeding 1.5#. Got new springs, no change. Called TruBall again and talked to another customer service person. He said the information I received was in error. I don't have time for this so I am returning of refund.

I tried measuring the pull weight but my digital draw scale will not register that low- it must be under 5lbs, probably way under 5lbs...that being said this is still a decent release, no trigger travel and it breaks clean. Still prefer my two Carter 2 Shots, but the X'ecute is a good release to have in your arsenal.

Sounds like mine was. Assume you had the red spring installed? I liked everything about this release except the tension adjustment. Regardless of the spring installed, I could only get about a pound and a half trigger pull. Too light for me. I returned it and went back to my Like Mikes.
