Tru Fire Edge Release adjustment question

For all my Tru Fire Edge shooters, I was wondering if you guys have ever adjusted it to your "liking". I couldn't feel much of a difference and was wondering if anyone can walk me through what each allen screw does. I know there's one inside the trigger and another one outside, I tried to look everywhere not much information about this. Please if anyone can help me out, much appreciated :teeth:

The screw inside the trigger adjust the trigger pressure. You just loosen it up a bit to adjust the pressure I believe it may be the other way around. Made a huge difference in the trigger pressure with mine. When you adjust it and go to shoot keep your finger behind the trigger till you get on target because it might be too light and just go off.

Unfortunately I already did mess with it. Everything is maxed clockwise setting so I want to start from scratch again. The trigger right now is sitting on the first section of my index, it use to be the second section of my index before. Where does everyone's trigger rest for all my index shooters

Backing out the screw at the base of the trigger (turning counter-clockwise) reduces the travel by moving the trigger back toward where it releases the calipers. If you have the screw all the way clockwise, you have the trigger set the furthest forward with the most amount of travel. Mine is backed out to where I can see one full thread over the top of the flat part of the trigger, and the trigger only moves about 1/8" or so before it releases. I would say back it out until its even with the flat part, and then back it out a 1/4 turn at a time from there until you get it where you want. Watch your lip in case it releases early.

The screw down at the base of the release shaft is for adjusting the overall length of the release. It you loosen it, you can unscrew the base to make the release longer. If its not bottomed out, you can also make it shorter. If you adjust the length, make sure you re-tighten the screw, or otherwise it will change lengths as you shoot, and possibly come apart all together. There is about 1/2" of length adjustment. Here is their instruction page: http://trufire.mybigcommerce.com/release-adjustment-instructions/

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for your answer. So in regards to the bottom screw is it suppose to be tight? For the longest time, my release spins and changes the length and I have to keep adjusting it. Is there anyway I could just keep it at one length?

Tightening that bottom screw should keep it at the set length. If it doesn't, that screw may be stripped, so you may need it tapped for a slightly larger one if you can find one. If it isn't stripped, but keeps working loose, try putting a little blue loctite on it.

The top part with the calipers will continue to swivel which helps eliminate torque on the D-loop, but the base closest to the strap should stay in one place.
