Was looking for a way to true the ends of the arrow shaft. Open for suggestions, was looking at the G5 truing device, would like feedback on it as well. Thanks
The G5 ASD works just fine. I've been using one since the hit they market several years ago. After cutting, I square the end, then after installing the insert, I square that as well.
I cut my arrows by only putting the blade partially thru the arrow and then rotating the shaft to complete the cut. That will guarantee that the cut plane is perpendicular to tha axis of the arrow. I do use and like the G5 for squaring the inserts for use with my Montecs but don't find it nessesary with field points.
