Went to start to set up my new Trykon XL.
Copied the Hoyt Tune chart as referance.
I have a 29.5" draw 65% cam.
cam Z4.5
My brace height is listed as 7 7/16"
This checks good.
My axel to axel should be 36 1/2"
It measures 36 1/4" Should I be concerned?

I don't think that 1/4" is anything to get too upset over, however I would be willing to bet that your string has to be really twisted up to get your draw length correct, and the bow probably is heavy in max weight.

Axle to Axle

But my problem is that on my scale the bow pulls about 59# limbs bottomed. If I get my axle to axel to spec. I think that I will lose draw weight. Not sure what to do. The bow is brand new and never shot and I am worried about it being under 1/4" short on the AtoA. I would guess that if the bow were tuned to the hoyt chart that the bow would not make much over 52#.Any suggestions??

is this a 60 lbs bow if you take some twist out of the string this will make your dl longer and increase poundage and ata if the bow fits and shoots well dont think about it just shoot. we some times let our brain get in the way. remove the brain and just shoot we then enjoy it a lot more

Anyone else have an opinion on my bow??
One guy that I know said that I should send it back if it is not in spec from the factory. If I untwist the string to get the AtoA right won't I lose draw weight?

Untwisting the string will increase the draw length a bit "usually about 1/4 inch" & there for will increase the weight by almost a pound & it will affect the A-A.

But to be honest the 1 pound difference isn't a worry & the 1/4 inch difference isn't a worry either being that the Tune charts are meant to be as a reference.

If you are really picky about this setup and want to get the bow exactally in spec, I would recomend that you go through Javi's cam and a half tuning procedure and get things right on the button, however as a few others have stated, 1# of draw weight really means almost nothing (2fps or less).

Javi has always said that the specs listed on the charts are for reference only. My Trykon XL came in from the factory the same way as yours. I was under on the draw weight. Mine was 57 pounds. I put in a twist and a half in the buss and I was up to my draw weight and then I finished timing it. Also my bow is @ 1/8th inch under the listed ATA. The factory Fuse strings will strectch some, I have changed mine out. CLick on Javi's cam and a half timing procedure and once you are finished you will be happy. Also do a search on how to make a drawing board, it is really helpful in the timing process especially if you dont have someone to look at the draw stops.
