On Sunday more than 80,000 people died because of the tsunami...I am too young (13) to go over and provide aid to the injured. I think that it is our responsibility to help the people in some way or another. I believe that the archers should start a fundraising event for the people over in Thailand and other countries. We should have someone start holding onto the money for everyone, someone that we can trust to not steal any money. If we get everyone on AT to donate at least 1 dollar we can raise more than 16,000 dollars. All of the archers need to unite and help out the hopeless. If we can have people donate more than 1 dollars we can have double that amount...Now let's unite and help out...We helped Ira for Christmas, so lets do more and help countries...Remember your dollar could save someones life...Let's all help out now...Please let's get this organized and help out the people.

My belief :

Our government can send millions to aid other countries.

We have people starving right here.................in one of,if not THE wealthiest countries in the world.

Sorry young Tim,but the older I get ,the colder I get.MY money will stay in MY pocket.

Some may call me narrow minded but thats fine.Things happen in life.Sometimes you forget to carry your lucky charm.

As of this moment Red Cross/Amazon donations are $5.1 million

That is a good place to put any donated money. Plenty of people want to help with the relief but choose to remain anonymous.

Young Tim:

You have a good heart, and I wish you well. But, personally, I've been sending packages to our guys in Iraq. When I can send more, I will.

It's my belief, we as Americans should be supporting our troops with our wallets, as well as just talking about it.

I've been around for a long time, and I can't remember but a few countries that have ever offered the U.S. relief after our major disasters. Remember the hurricanes in FL? Perhaps you remember reading about the Anchorage, AL 9.0 earthquake in the 1960s. Of course you must remember the 9/11 terrorist strike? The list is endless, disaster strikes elsewhere and Americans respond. Disaster strikes here at home, and who comes to our aid, Other Americans!

It's not for lack of sympathy for others, rather it's more empathy with our soldiers. Our own troops need aid. They are dying to give another country a chance at freedom.

Support them; you’ll be showing them a love of your country when you send over a box of Hershey’s, a case of gum, or if nothing else just a letter.

You don’t need to look far from home to show you care.

Richard

Well, I have already done a lot for the tropps, I organized something in my school where we sent Christmas Cookies over to the soldiers and I just got a new rest so I'm sending my old one over. But I agree that we should help the tropps first but even just a dollar would help remember just because people don't help us doesn't mean we shouldn't help them. God bless.

mother nature

I will get burned and cussed and what ever other mean things the geat folks here on at can do to one but here goes.

Mother nature takes care of herself when a area becomes over populated.
We are animals and nature makes no difference in a species and uses what is available to control this situation.

Feed and cloth out own before we take care of others.

I was sort of thinking the same thing, natural selection type thing. So your not alone in that. Although I do feel for all those people that lost everything they have. I'm a bit cold, but not freakin heartless.

But I also agree with others here, You don't need to look very far for unfortunate people that could use help. There are probably homeless people within 50 miles of you at any given time. I prefere to help those around me in my own comunity first.

Well said Meatco1. I completely agree. My heart is with those who have witnessed the destruction casued by this natural disaster. But I also agree, that too many times, things like this have happened and the US is the first and sometimes the only country to step in and help. But I must ask, who is helping those in the US that sees this kind of devestation on a daily basis. These people, my friends, are the ones who live in Hells Kitchen. Here they are, living in the land of the free and the home of the brave, and have absolutely nothing. That to me, is the greatest disaster of them all. And the saddest thing is, it could be stopped, if the government and all of the people of America wanted it to.
