I have been going back and forth with the Bowtec Allegiance and the Hoyt Trykon xl. I have shot them both but not side by side, i cant find anyone who carries them both. Im shooting a 29.5 draw @ 70lbs looking to mainly hunt and also do some 3Ding. Looking for opinions. Thanks!

Both are great bows, you will not go wrong with either. I had an allegiance last year. Shot very good with it. This year I bought a trykon xl for hunting, and was so impressed with it, I sold my protec and bought another one for target. Shoot these bows better than anything I've ever owned.

here are my thoughts on the two:

allegiance is about 10 fps faster.
trykon xl is quieter.
trykon xl is heavier (bad for packing around out hunting, but better for me holding on target.
recoil and hand shock I would say are equal (very little on both)
allegiance cams are modular, trykon xl is draw lenght and letoff specific:sad:
Like draw cycle on xl better (mine are 65% letoff) did not like draw cycle on 80% trykon xl at all, though the allegiance draws smoothly also IMO.
Allegiance factory strings good, trykon xl strings junk imo. Plan on buying custom strings if you opt for xl.
