I am a beginner awaiting the start of our local clubs beginners course. I already have a recurve bow.
Over the past few days I have been 'zeroing' my pin sight, which has two
pins. As I am still not too hot I used bails at 20m and 40m. I was trying to
line up the string just to the right of the pin head whilst placing the pin
head on the target.
I found it difficult to do this as the string is a blur.
On re reading the bowsight section in 'Archery - Steps to success' it says
to line up the string so that it bisects the bow and appears just to the right
of the aperture.
Now, whilst placing the pin head on the target I can either have the string
to the right of the pin head OR bisecting the bow but NOT both.
I find it easier to bisect the bow.
Any advice ?

Consistency is the key, groups are everything. Coming to full draw with a reliable and stable anchor point is manadatory. What you chose will end up being very individual.

Many draw with their eyes closed, seeking a repeatable anchor without a visual reference, then open their eyes to see what that solid reference looks like.
