Which bow is "better" and why? V3X vs VXR

I'm looking at a couple of option to purchase while avoiding the cost of the latest new Matthews...
Thanks for your thoughts

The only better is what works better for you. Both are solid bows.

I have VXR 28 and v3x 29. The 1” ata makes a bigger difference than you’d think. I prefer the VXR. It’s 4fps faster at the same draw weight as well. I don’t feel like it holds any different and it’s much more maneuverable in a stand or blind. I don’t use a bridgelock sight which is the only real difference in that the v3x has the bridgelock cut out. I’d definitely sell the v3x first if I had to sell 1.

My draw length is short at 27, the 28 ata is about perfect. If you have a longer draw the v3x 29 or 33 might be the better option.

This is the VXR 28 next to the 29. Will sort of give you an idea of the difference between the VXR 31.5 and v3x 33.

Do you have a dovetail sight? If you do, the v3x might be worth it. If you have a standard bracket sight mount, just go with the VXR in my opinion. I shot the vxr and upgraded to the v3x. Only difference I have been able to pick out is that the bridge lock for my dovetail sight helps balance the bow some. But if you aren't using a dove tail, that isn't a feature to worry about!

I have a vxr 31.5 and a v3x33 as well as throwing a V3-31 in the mix. Very little difference between any of the three in terms of accuracy or tuning. The 31.5 and 31 I don’t think there is a single difference in. The v3x33 is a great bow, but if I had to sell one that would be it. It doesn’t out perform the other two for my particular shot style despite the long riser. I don’t use any of the bridge lock accessories so that’s my loss there. All really great bows. Simple and proven designs with not a lot of fancy adjustments to come loose and constantly tinker with. Just my experience.

V3X - simply for the SAS capability over the VXR which is why I put the VXR down and got the V3X33.. but with that the V3X is the last best bow Mathews made to me. I’m not willing to risk the 8 limbs on the phase 4 and the lift. In the past couple days, Iv seen several limbs cracking on those two bows..
