Looking for opinions on these vanes. Wanting to try something different for field and 3d. I've looked at both and I see that the flex-fletch are alot more expensive the the vane-tec vanes. trying to decide which length and pofile to go with and since both have the same profile vanes are there any real
differences between the two that would warrant the extra price for the flex-fletch? Anyone using one of these vanes?
Which profile seems to work the best out of what you are shooting?
I'll be using victory 350 hv arrows at 29" weighing 325 grn and shooting 60 lbs at 30". Thanks all

Very true!! I have shot FF-187's through animal targets at Redding (and there is some seriously TIGHT grouping at that tournament!!), and I just pick them up and wait about a minute and any wrinkle is gone and you can't tell the vane's have gone through a very tough animal target!! I use FF Zing Primer and glue and you can't pull them off with pliers!! They are definitely worth the money!! Especially for how long they last!!

God bless, Todd

Come on BH.

I've never shot a Vane Tec but I've shot plenty of FF's.... and I don't consider them to be anything special. My favorites at the moment are the $9/100 pack AAE's. They are as good as anything else and a fraction of the cost of many now.

Flex Fletch are worth the extra coin IF you take the time to prep like the directions call for. They will outlast and keep their shape much longer than any other vane I have tried and I think I have tried most. Vane-Tec make good vanes and they are my second choice. I have some arrows fletched with Flex Fletch Flash, some with 2" Flex Fletch Silent Knight, and some with the Vanetec 2" HP. I have shot the 187's for 3d and field and they worked fine, i just decided to shoot what I hunt with.

Most any vane is "easier" to fletch though just due to prep time.

I would say hands down flex fletch IF (and that is a big if) you prep them right. I now use their zing primer and any type of super glue and they won't come off (prior to that, I would have occasional problems with them adhering).

I have used blazers, quick spins, vanetecs, fusions, AAEs over the last 10+ years (both on my arrows and on arrows I've fletched for friends/family) and the durability and consistency of FF is second to none in my opinion.

I really like the flash and the SK 200s and 300s.

I'm in no way affiliated with them and I can confidently say I have found a vane that is perfect for ME

Both good fletchings.

I have been shooting Vanetec for many years now with great success. Never had any issues with these vanes. Shoot far better than I do.

Love the 2.0HP for hunting and 1.75 Fita vanes for my 22's.

I've been looking at the vanetec swift vanes but not sure of which size would be a better all around target vane. I know the flex-fletch have the same 187 and 225 sizes and
seem to be a great vane also. Seems to be split on which one to go with.

My daughter missed the target a couple times last night and sent arrows into some nasty hard dried out juniper, when I found the arrows the vanes were pretty wrinkled up from where they were lodged, we walked back to the line and got set-up again and I looked at her fletches to see if they flew bad with the wrinkles and I could not figure out which ones had been wrinkled!!! I have not been shooting FF for very long but so far I believe like many posts in threads I have read on here that they are a superior product.

FF is a good vane , but not better than Vanetecs .

For the memory , they are very close , for the price , Vanetecs are way cheaper , for preparation , Vanetecs are much easier to work with .

I don't sell FF in my shop anymore , everybody went with Vanetec , and nobody wants to go back .....

I shoot a LOT of arrows. For 3D I started using Flex Fletch FLP-400's to be IBO AHC legal some years ago. I then went to FFS-212's. I really don't care for re-fletching arrows. The FF vanes can be shot through bag targets or 3D targets and look new in just a few minutes. They also get torn up less by other arrows.

With that said, I HATE spending triple what most other fletch cost. Soooooooo, I've been using the same color (blue) and style FFS-212's for the last 5 or so years.

I will be trying something else but I almost expect to go back to Flex Fletch.....

I think I will buy some of each and see what happens. Probably get several sizes just for comparision.
I guess the only way to know for sure about these vanes is to spend some money.
