I'm new to archery so if this is a stupid question, that's my excuse. I bought a used Triax a while back and it came with VAP arrows with the aluminum outserts and 100grain cheapo field points. I have the bow setup and tuned (to the best of my ability) with those arrows/points. I just bought another dozen VAP V3 400 arrows with the SS inserts. Can anyone tell me what 100 grain field points I need for them? I have searched here and see everything from "tophats" (which I like the look but the price not so much) to "the cheapest you can find" so I don't really want to get into which is the best field point, I know it's really just personal preference anyway. I see so many options on tophats and others and I don't know exactly which ones I need for the arrows/outserts I have. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hiya!!

I started with cheap 100 grain bullet tips with my VAP's and hated that every time I shot, I had to tighten the tip first. So...I did some searching and found these. Maifield Stainless Field Points have two rubber O-rings and they stay tight... The tip is a touch larger as well, so pulling arrows for the most part is easy. Stainless steel is a plus. The are a little spendy for a dozen, but I have been very pleased with them.

I will be hunting with them next year. Loaded up with 100 grain rage 2 blade chisel tips.

I'm shooting a 29-1/2" shaft length, but then with the in/outsert it is roughly at 31-ish.... The arrow is 448 grains with 12%foc. My hunting arrows have lighted g-nocks on them from blackout, which are about 8 grains more than a normal g nock.

So far I love how they fly, and I am not even done tuning yet...
