Hoping for some feedback on these arrows, I have been shooting FMJ’s for a few years and they are great arrows, heavy but durable. Interested in trying some rip tko with a finished weight of about 500gr. I’m a long draw so 30.5” arrows.

worried about giving up some of the durability I love with my FMJ’s. Anyone have experience with TKO’s?

I've shot the RIP TKO and VAP TKO arrows for a few years. The RIP TKO are durable arrows as long as you don't hit nocks with your field points (tight groups). The RIP TKO will typically chip or crack at the end of the arrow if you hit the nock. In my experience VAP TKO arrows are much more durable than RIP TKO. If you are able to compare the two side by side look at the wall thickness difference, the VAP TKO are much thicker than the RIP TKO.

Switched from FMJ's to RIP TKO'S after this year because repeated shots into 3D foam and targets, all but one of the 8 FMJ's I have left wobble horribly on my arrow spinner. Plus you can see the ends beginning to mushroom out where the field points screw into the shaft. Have not been happy with the durability of the FMJ's, hoping to have better luck out of the RIP's.

My last arrows were VAP TKO and they’re the best arrows I’ve ever used. I would 100% recommend them, plus then you can add that weight up front and get a higher FOC instead of just a heavier overall arrow. They’re super durable as well, and won’t bend if you hit something hard like the FMJs will. I’ve bounced them off wood posts and they still spun completely straight, I think they’re the best arrows on the market.

I had a couple broken FMJs and RIP TKO laying around. Out of curiosity I picked up the FMJ and tried to snap it in my hands. I was amazed how easy it folded. Then did the same thing with the RIP TKO… it took so much force that the vibration of the arrow finally snapping hurt my hands more then I’d like to admit.

I was going to stay out of this conversation because I don't have any experience with the VAP's.... BUT, I am really getting frustrated with my FMJ's. They fly awesome, and they have hammered through plenty of deer, but they just aren't very tough. I have ruined at least a dozen from slapping groups- they get bent very easily (which really means the carbon center is compromised) and you would think the aluminum sheath would help protect the carbon center from the slapping with other arrows. TOO darn expensive to ruin this easily. Not sure what I am going to change to, but I'm not buying anymore FMJ's.

I shoot the VAP TKO’s and I like them but I have bent or broken almost everyone that has gone into an animal and one that went through a range target and hit the steel post behind it. I was looking at some other systems that go deeper into the arrow shaft to see if that helps with breakage.
No experience with FMJ’s

I don’t use the RIP TKO but switched from the FMJ to VAP SS this year and have been much happier. The FMJ as others have pointed out is not really that durable. That and the weight is terrible. It’s pretty hard to get a decent FOC without going really heavy on the front.

I’ve been pretty happy with the Victory setup. Very durable, great tolerances, and love the spine alignment markings.

I used to shoot 5 mm FMJ's. Over 6 years ago, I switched to VAP's and VAP TKO's, between 2 bows. I've been much more pleased. FMJ's required were too heavy in spines I needed. It was difficult to get FOC% above 10. If I wanted 5 mm arrows, I'd definitely choose RIP TKO's over any diameter FMJ's. But everyone should shoot whatever arrows they like best.

Any of the Victory 4 mm's will have thicker walls, which help maintain durability and straightness over FMJ's or most 5 mm arrows in general.
