Just placed string on this old bow and there are no string grooves. Dates from about 1974. Anything I need to know?

Correct, 60X sent new Dacron string and it's nice. I was just wondering about the lack of limb grooves. And, I'm still wondering.

I lot of entry level bows back then didn't have "string grooves".
Not really sure why they are needed, in the first place, unless they are trying to correct for a factory limb twist...

Very good, TY. It's a Darton Ranger and is shooting excellent with 1816's. I also picked up a Ben Pearson Colt from 1966 and it to is an excellent shooter.
