Guys,

I am torn on which pair of Vortex binos to get. I have narrowed it down to these two choices and would like some input on which one you think would be the better choice. They are basically the same binos (size and price) so I think I may be splitting hairs here. I would just like to know which ones others would go with and why.

I am basically going to be using them for 3D and hunting the southeastern US for whitetails. The longest distance that I ever need to see is about 300-400 yards.

Thanks.

42's- wider field of view, slightly lighter, less light transmission
50's- narrower field of view, slightly heavier, better light transmission

Basically the differences between the two. Personally weight to the stand doesn't matter a whole lot to me nor does field of view. But what really agrivates me is when I can't see the deer clearly across the way because light is getting low. Big objective lenses do wonders for me

The narrower field of view in the 8.5x50 would be the deal breaker for me . . .
