I plan on making the switch from Rage Hypodermic NC to the VPA 3 blade 125 grain broadheads this year. Has anybody tested the noise difference on vented or non vented? I’d really like to get the Stainless 125’s so I don’t have to worry about rust, but they only come in the vented version. Also feel free to add any how they’ve worked for you guys (non vented and vented)

I've been shooting the 3-blade vented 100 grains for 10 years now. I do have non-vented and was not able to notice any difference in noise, I think my vanes make more noise than the majority of broadheads on the market. I've been very satisfied with the VPAs, I have tried other heads now and again but always found myself going back to the VPAs. The one thing I actually like about the VPA heads is you can put in extra time with flat stones and get the blades as sharp as you want. I feel sharpness of the blades is a a close second to only shot placement and I spend a fair amount of time practicing shooting, so why not put time in with the sharp end of the stick.

I have killed deer with both vented and non vented. I think the vented might be slightly louder. But I couldnt swear to it because like allankuz I think the fletching makes more noise.
Ill say this though. The non vented are just about indestructible. And like allankuz I think they are easy to get sharp. I can shave hair after the flat stones if I finish them off with a ceramic stick or a leather strop. Also the Stay Sharp 344 that changes the angle from combined 60 degree to 44 degree does work. It takes some time but they are really at another level. Im not sure its necessary though.
