Got myself a Vtec Cam&1/2 60-70#
30.5" draw
scale says its set on 64 lbs
only thing on the string is a D loop

Its launching 402 grains arrows at 272 fps

that sound about right? I was expecting alittle more...I was thinking it would hit 280. I dunno how much more poundage the Epic 400s could take at 28.5 inches.

the St Epics with Blazer vanes and 100gr Montecs are flying like darts so Im not likely to change anything but I just thought I would ask.

What kind of setups out there are shooting 400gr arrows @ 280fps

I was shooting a 2004 Xtec which is eccentially the same bow ... yours seems to be doing pretty well. Here's some data I collected with mine over the last few years ... copied & pasted into this post:

HOYT @ 55# Draw weight (29-1/2" draw length)
CT Cheetahs @ 302gr = 264fps .. 48KE
CT Cheetahs @ 302gr = 268fps .. 48KE
Easton 410's @ 323gr = 262fps ... 49KE
Easton 410's @ 333gr = 258fps ... 49KE
Beman 400's @ 345gr = 253fps ... 50KE
Beman 400's @ 355gr = 247fps ... 51KE (@ 378gr before shortening arrows)

HOYT @ 62# Draw Weight
Beman 380-16 = 256fps ... 58KE (400grs)
Beman 400's = 264fps ... 54KE (370gr)

HOYT @ 66# Draw weight
Beman 400's = 270fps ... 61KE (@ 378gr AND 66# draw weight)
Beman 380-16 = 263fps ... 63KE (@ 410gr and 66# draw weight)


(Notes: @ 3.4gr per fps, using 350gr Beman 400 arrows out of Hoyt @ 66# should give 278fps & 60KE. Using Easton 410's @ 333gr “should” give 283fps & 59KE) SAME 66# effort out of Bowtech give 334fps/82KE or 51fps more & 23 added KE!

I am shooting a Vtec at 69 pounds, 27.5 draw lenght and 410 grain arrow. I am getting 265 fps with 1\4 tru peep, Dloop and speed knocks.

That's good to know. My Vtec is 74lbs. 30" draw. 386grn arrow. No Chrony.
