and I have some questions about pins.

I was wondering how many pins would I need to shoot out to 75 yards. I am shooting about 320 fps.

Previously I have shot slower bows that were sub 300 fps but only ever practiced out to 40 yards. I set the pins 20,30,40 and it worked pretty good

I wondered how the long range guys set their pins up past 40?

Pics would be greatly apreciated. Thanks :)

you could just keep going by 10yds out to 70. as fast as you are shooting couldnt you just have one pin out to 30 or not. then that would save you 1 pin out to 70 going by 10yds.

I have a five pin spot hogg (with a vertical wire) set out to 60 yards. But the top of my bubble level is set for 70 yards as an 'extra' pin.

Yep, that's what I do, and this year I actually used that bubble pin setting. I'm getting a 7-pin sight now to try out as well.

I use 5 pins for 25/35/45/55/65yds, and I find that this is fine for any bow shooting 250fps plus out to 70 yds.

I have a Spot Hogg 7dp. Pins go from 20 - 80! I love it. Got the .010 pins for 40-80 yards not too long ago and just recently got to practice with them. I was a little unsure about them, but man out at those longer ranges they are awesome!

Shooting Distances with fast bow

I'm shooting a PSE dream season 60-70 lb (set at 65lbs 29.5 draw length) and have set the first pin at 0-30, second at 40, third at 50, fourth at 60 & fifth at 70 if shooting a five pin sight. Works well!

Target Sight

You may want to get a target sight like the copper john ANTS 2 and come to some outdoor FITA shoots. Men shoot at 30, 50, 70 and 90 meters (around 33, 55, 77, an 99 yards). Woman at 30, 50, 60 and 70 meters. Once you start shooting at longer distances you will get hook.
