i have some gortex scent lock boots and they smell bad i was wondering if i could just wash them in the washer with scent killer and just air dry them? would the gortex go bad and leak....any info would be great thanks
There are "sport washes" that will not clog Gortex. It is clearly stated on the bottles. Best stuff I have found is Nikwax. I wash my rain suite a couple times a year along with a few other peices of gortex gear. http://www.nikwax-usa.com/en-us/
It is fragrence free if that mean anything. There is an actual wash called Sports wash (I think that's the name). I purchased it at Wally World and it says safe for Gortex. The idea behind washing Gortex is not to clog it.
