after every other shooting session. but every couple weeks I take the old wax off & put new on.

I guess I should have stated that I meant after every 2 weeks of use. I use mine quite often.

To get the old wax off just take a piece of string about 12 inches long and make one wrap around the string. Holding the ends in your hands ,lightly pull on the string to make it tighten around your string and pull the string up and down the string. This will take the wax off the string and then you can put new wax on.
