Nice deal...looks good...solid design.
Great tips posted in the other thread regarding settings and film.

Few questions yet though:

1) Do you think as long as I tape over the camera lense, sensor, and display panel...I'll be OK spray painting over it? I figure it will be just fine, anything to break it up some.

2) Someone mentioned there was a way to thread some locking mechanism onto the StealthCam. Mine came with just a nylon strap to secure it to a tree. Anyone have mods they've done to secure the camera to the tree and lock it?

Hehe I guess one option is to get a metal housing around it, lock it down and chain it. Would take some work though.

Interested to see what some of you may have already done to secure the cam!

Yeah, but where are you attaching it to on the StealthCam?

I'd have to drill holes in the housing to put a cable through for locking or something.

Putting it on the exterior...someone will just rip/break off whatever its attached to. I think you really need to run the cable through the housing interior somehow...without damaging the camera of course.

I'll be thinkin about it...see if I can figure somethin out! :)

It's supposed to come with the flat locking bar. If it wasn't in the box, take it back and get one that has the bar.

OK here is the skinny...just called StealthCam.

Some stores carry different "styles" of the same Model. Walmart's style comes with the locking bar, while Cabela's does not.

Fortunately, StealthCam's outstanding Customer Service came through and they are sending me one for FREE.

He also said the locking plate is essentially brand new. I asked if I had "old stock", but he said no...the stores still have different style models.

Below is their contact information, if you need one:

http://www.stealthcam.net/index.cfm/fuseaction/home.contactus/contactus.cfm

Toll free technical support by phone:
1-888-304-6125
Call center hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 8:00 pm Central Time
Saturday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Central Time

So that's the deal...get it from Walmart if you can. If you order from Cabela's, call the number above and order the locking plate! :)
