Your bow was a lot better than mine.
I had a bamboo thing bought at an Indian souvineer stand (Western American Indians and bamboo????).
It had to be around 5-7 because of the house I remember it in.
We use to make our own from small saplings and twine, I was probably 8 or 9.I got my first store bought bow, a Sears solid glass bow at age 12. Been at it ever since. I'll be 55 in Oct.
I bought my first (and only) compound bow at 39. Three months later I had made my first wooden bow out of a red oak board I bought at a lumber yard. One year and 7 wooden bows later, I am hooked. I started my boys out at the same time I started (5 and 7), so they have a 30+ year head start on the Old Man.
I started when I was 16, I'm 27 now. Wish I could of started earlier but I'm the first one in the family to start shooting a bow and using it for hunting. Now I got 2 of my brothers with me and next year I will buy my son his first bow.
I was 16 when i started shooting bow,Know one in my family was into archery So when i was old enough to hunt on my own my grandmother bought me a bear whitetail and I've been at it ever since. I'm 35 now.
