What all do you take to the treestand?

How much or how little do you take to the stand with you? I usually take a midsized badlands backpack with a lot of things I don’t normally even touch during a hunt. I started mobile hunting more in the last couple years. Carrying a stand/sticks and a pack is a lot. How many people take a more minimalist approach and just take a bino pouch or small Fanny pack etc?

Depends. Sometimes as little as a bino pack, range finder, and the flashlight and pocket knife I have with me all the time anyway. Usually, bino/range finder, small backpack with a sock hat, neck gaiter, gloves, tp, small bottle of scent away, battery pack, and a snack if I’m going to be out long enough. I’m fortunate that most of my hunting is private, so I’m not toting climbers in and out.

Bow, quiver, and release are most important.
Small fanny pack with a knife, grunt call, flashlight/headlamp,
Snack and drink depending on how long I am planning to stay.
Same here. Plus my phone, drag rope, rope for raising and lowering bow, hunting license/tags/ink pen/zip ties, rattle bag, bleat can, small folding saw, bow hook and orange vest and hat in case I get one. Eveything fits in small fanny pack and clothes pockets.

lately i have been doing all day sits so i usually take what i need for the day, but it's not much. in my back i have my water and food for the day, i usually don't eat a lot. i don't get too hungry being that i'm not using much energy just sitting there. i usually have a few knifes, hand warmers, flash light, extra clothes if needed, grunt call and that is pretty much it. i'm fortunate to hunt private land and just leave my stand up and not have to pack all that in

Aside from my bow and arrows and release I always have a backpack. Usually stuffed with: binos, rangefinder, spare release, pair of gloves, 2 calls, skinning knife, scent killer spray, a bottle of water, and a snack. Sometimes I will stuff a jacket or sweatshirt in, and I strap on my rattling horns when it's that time of year.

Of course my bow, arrows, and release. Then in my backpack I've got to where I carry binoculars, rangefinder, license, phone, pin, tape, knife, bottle of water, sharpening stone, face paint. I think that's about it. I might throw a granola bar in there every once in awhile too. My pack usually stays ready so I just grab it and my bow and then I've got everything. I used to load everything up each time I went hunting but it got to be such a pain I finally broke down and got a little backpack that I just that I just keep in my truck

I hunt close to home (walk out the back door type close) or close to the truck (I hunt private land woodlots in farm country, so none of these "two mile walks") in pre-placed stands or on the ground, and have always been a light traveler.

I use a small fanny pack with a knife, two flashlights, toilet paper in a zip-lok, drag harness, surveyors ribbon for tracking, and maybe an extra polypro top and beanie, depending on weather.

Binos are in my cargo pocket.

Bow, LW climber, safety line, range finder, headlamp, license, phone, small snack.

I stuff everything in one of my pockets to avoid lugging in a bag. I also now have my hoist line attached to my climber. One less thing to remember or forget 😀

Switched from backpack to fanny pack this year because much of what I had in my backpack I didn't touch. When I got my deer this year, I carried my stand and bow back to my truck and grabbed my cart and backpack and headed back out to take care of the deer. Fanny pack has haul line, knit hat, gloves, folding hand saw, snack, small bottle of water, some disposable hand warmers and rangefinder. when I get up in the tree, headlamp goes in, hat, gloves and rangefinder come out.

Back pack has knives, cleaning gloves, drag rope, extra headlamp, camo face paint, TP, extra knit hat, extra wool socks, extra warm gloves, extra water. Much of these came out before I headed out to retrieve deer.

My bow of course. I throw an old military surplus bag over my neck and across my shoulder. In it, I keep binoculars, water, deer drag, extra knife, knife with saw blade, my primary gutting/skinning knife, gutting gloves, safety belt, extra safety belt, gloves, flashlight, tree hook for hanging stuff, extra release, my seat cushion attached, and folded paper towel.

Doesn't any one take a book with them?
