Heres a possible stupid question but I cant figure out what these are. Every time I go to check my trail cameras its sounds like it raining them.

I think they are beech nuts.

i am pretty sure those are beech nuts. they should be falling off of a light gray slick barked tree.

They aint hickory nuts. I have three of the god forsaken trees in my back yard I know them all too well when tryin to cut the grass.

These are beech nuts. Get a hand full, peal the inside hull away and eat the seed. When I was a kid used to go to my grandparents house ,they had a big beech tree behind the barn and I would get them and eat them. If I still do when I can find them.
