I can't seem to find the right height chair for hunting out of my blind, I'm 6'2" and every chair I try is too tall, if I get one that works it's to low to the ground and my knee's are by my chin, any suggestions as what to sit on.

Chair for Blind

I use the fold flat Black Plastic that you find at Weddings, Banquets..etc..
Great back support, knees not under your chin, right height. I did find
that after awhile the front legs would work into the ground. Took rubber
ends off a pair of crutches, glued over ends. Problem solved, PERFECT!

An Idea

For deer hunting I constructed a permanent platform of treated lumber that sits on 12' 4x4s, and have a popup blind setup on it - best of both worlds! Anyway, I bolted a swivel boat seat base to the platform and attached a camo boat seat - it's comfortable and rotates quietly. I think you can get those bases in different or adjustable heights.

stay away from

Fabric chairs made of tight nylon etc like the $6.00 ones at wal mart. When the woods are quiet and you need to shift just a little to get a shot the sound of pants sliding on the fabric is deafening! It cost me 2 shots last year at deer less than 15 yards.

Hmmmm, lots of idea's. The plastic cafeteria ones might be the trick. The all-terrain set looks nice, but, man, that things pricey.

chair

Those dove hunting chairs are what I use. They have a shoulder strap and fold up really neat. There is also a zippered pouch under it. It has no arms. those get in the way when you are trying to pivot around. only about $10.

i make these for tripods then i just make a little short base at the right height that is very stable. silent. can swivel with ease or lock down the jam screw for secure base. very light so you can take it out and use the chair in your tripod again or practice sitting down or for rifle range practice or whatever you can dream up.

I prefer a chair with four legs so the seat is square instead of a triangle, a little more comfortable on the "anatmomy" for the long sits. It also has less tendency to sink into softer ground distributed over four spots.

Chair

You need a handicapped shower chair. /1. waterproof /2. adjustable legs(all 4) /3. uneven ground no problem, adjust one leg longer than other /4. I am 6 foot 4, no problem with height /5. seat back can be removed /6. about $60 /7. Amazon(search shower chair) /8. I use mine with my Double Bull /9. by the way I consider myself an expert on handicapped chairs(I am handicapped). Tom:wink:
