i bought some remington hang on stands,they are a light grey color,what would be the best color to paint them,olive drab?? and if i paint themn right away and leave them outside will the paint smell be gone till the pa. opener??

I honestly don't think it makes any difference. The gray is good, lighter type olive green is good. But as others have said, it's fun to play around.

I've found it's REAL easy to get them almost too dark looking using the camo colored paints.

The gray is fine, I used a gray Summit climber for a few years and no deer seemed to notice. That being said, I now give ALL of my stands a light dusting of some black, brown and green paint, just for a little "peace of mind", if you will.

My latest project, I taped every gray spot on my Summit climber with Realtree tape and added in some sneaky leafs as well. Will it work better than if I had left it alone? Who knows for sure, but one thing is for sure, it looks cool :D

I got a gray ladder stand from dicks last year and was considering painting it a camo color combo like you are asking about. I put it out during the late archery season and i'll tell you, sometimes i thought it was stolen cause i couldn't see it. But i say go for whatever floats your boat.
