for elk tanning?
with hair on and off/full tanning?
I had a hair on done a couple of years ago for $100.
Then this last one I asked for it hair off, just for the leather, now their asking for $325:eek:
Doesn't it cost more to have it done with the hair on on average?
Just looking for input before I tell them to keep it.

i tan my own with kits that are readily available from taxidermy supply companies.

first thing i do with a fresh hide is get salt on it. then i can tan it later when i want to/ have time.

a little elbow grease goes a long way. i think around $125 was the going rate for "hair on" from taxidermists in my area.
