Are you guys wearing pants? Or just a base layer under your bibs? Or both base + pants?

For most of the season my Rocky mountain thermals and jeans. When it gets near 20 I add some fleece pants I use for archery season ( don't really need bibs until gun opens)

Bibs don't go on until I'm at the tree

Thanks for the info. Can you guys recommend any of the cabelas pants to go under my bib? I’m planning to get a goretex/thinsulate bib so breathable pants would be a bonus. What are some of the cabelas series I can look at? Thanks.

I used to wear base layers and pants under bibs but pants are kind of uncomfortable and always bunch up when putting bibs over the top. Now I just wear Minus33 midweight base layer and will add another heavyweight Sitka core over when gets colder.

The stand hunter bibs are not good for walking even if you open the leg zips all the way.....way too hot. Stuff like cabelas wooltimate pants can work if you keep the leg zips open all the way. The stand hunter stuff is the bomb for warm.

I just open the leg zippers all the way and put the bibs on...arrange things and then zip up. Ties at the bottom of the pants legs help.....but you could use Velcro strips similar to wader straps.....when I put on waders over pants I strap the bottom of the pants tight with wader straps.

Thanks for the info guys. Something I was thinking about. What if its raining, or rained the day before and you're walking through long grass/bushes and taking on water on your pants? Or you're getting some snow melt on your pants etc etc.

Do you just put your wet pants into your bibs?

Same thing I wear under my kilt!
Really though I wear various stages of baselayers depending on the temp. I too do not like having any type of regular pant, other then baselayers under my bibs.
