I think it kinda depends on where you live. In MN it would most likely be a tree stand and in eastern CO most likely be spot and stalk.

I voted treestands because they work...even if I can't stand to sit in 'em. But if you were to have three choices for a buck in the woods I think the treestand would give you the best opportunity.

Problems - treestands don't work where there's no trees.

Groundblinds could work to, but then again, I'd be anchored to one spot.

All my hunting in the past has been in a treestand. Very successful, over the years. I'm gonna try some ground blinds this year cause I've found some places that are perfect for them.

In MI tree stand would be most likely, Deer have no natural predators capable of flying so deer very rarely will look up when alerted, unless you over expose yourself, movement, shiny piece of equipment.

But where there is no trees then its stalking or ground blind, i guess.

QUOTE]

All the work i do of walking/scoutting around establishing patterns of the animals, setting up food plots and some bait allow me to sit down when i "hunt"

Though i guess you could call it "waiting"

I dont think my wife would understand "hey im going to go deer waiting tonight so ill be home late" just doesnt have the same ring to it

Success to me is more than a dead critter. It's the feeling that I got out there and matched wits with a Career Prey Animal. A Spot and Stalk hunt that culminated in an encounter of some kind is my type of Success.

Trick Question...

as several have said, it depends... my Double Bulls rule for turkeys, while my treestands rule for deer.
