while strolling through my neighborhood I found a heavily gunked up arrow point on the pavement. (I know! I usually only find shotshells...)

after I cleaned it up I noticed this hole in the tip.
could it be for:
  • attaching the hook of a fishing rod to shoot it into the mouth of an unsuspecting fish? 馃帲
  • sticking a match in it to shoot it towards a striker strip to light up the Olympic flames? 馃敟
  • fitting a nipple ring in it to stiffen the arrow shaft? 馃拲
  • something else? 馃槙

Maybe it was a fish arrow and the wire rusted out or was removed?

Considering the state of things these days, my vote/guess is the nipple ring... :ROFLMAO:

I put a pellet of ricin in the hole and use it for my backup death insurance incase of bad shot on a trophy buck..

Ricin is a lectin and a highly potent toxin produced in the seeds of the castor oil plant, Ricinus communis. The median lethal dose of ricin for mice is around 22 micrograms per kilogram of body weight via intraperitoneal injection. Oral exposure to ricin is far less toxic.

it's quite possible that the hole is "user drilled"
on the hidden side there's heavy pitting and the numbers 2 and 5
that makes me think it used to be a 125gr point
but it weighs only 119.8 grains now

once the rain stops I'll shoot it
if it doesn't whistle I'll put a nipple ring on it.

its for a fiberglass fish stick, for pulling wire. the same thread size.
I second this one. Went to go pull one out of the fish sticks sets that I have in my work van but those tips are always the first thing to get lost. And they will unthread from the fish stick while pulling the string unless you give it a wrap or two of security tape. So I just security wrap my string directly to the end of the stick instead of dinking around with the tips.

As others have said, it goes on tip of fiberglass rod for pulling wire through a hole. Not archery related
