I need help with a D-loop. What style of D-loop is best for a hunting bow? A friend has a plastic D-loop that is screwed on to the bow string. Another friend said that the string D-loop is better, but you have to take the bow string off the bow and thread the D-loop on. If the string style is better, is there a D-loop that you can tie on, or do I need to take the string off my bow? Do they make some thing you can tie on, does it slip? Can you help me get "looped up"? Vance.

You can either buy a package for about 3 bucks that contains usually three pieces of cord to tie a D loop and tie one yourself or have a pro shop tie one. You can also use a Tru nock which is the hard, formed nock. I prefer a tied nock. Just info. to think about.

I would stay away from any metal nocks. Right now i have a tru nock that i got for 10 bucks and it is crap. The little threads get stripped so it's not tight. Just a mess. I would probably use a regular string loop. That's what i'll be going back to before the season.

without a doubt...

I would go with the regular tied on loop. They are easy to tie, light weight and the good thing is if you need a little shorter or a little longer draw you can tie them however. Good luck.

I'd always go with a tied on Rope Loop. The BEST loop material that I've ever found is manufatured by Brownell and marketed by T.R.U. Ball. It's a braided black rope with a special crush prrof core to prevent it from flattening. It's lasts seemingly forever and it's very economical, you can buy it on their site by the spool!
