Hang-ons or climbers?...as for hang-ons, I would say buy a muddy hunter, gorilla silverback magnum or ol man alumalight fps...reason being is their seat cushions are thicker than normal and made from multi-density foam, therefore you'll get more booty comfort from sitting. I personally own an ol' man alumalight and love it! I've also tried lone wolf's, and there seats suck, nice, well built but expensive with no booty comfort. As for climbers, make sure the seats dangle and you'll be comfortable. Note, stay away fom the lone wolf hand climber's, the seat concept is the same as their hang-ons, if you get a lone wolf get the sit & climb, or just get a summit :)

I'm sorta hating on lone wolf treestands, I've owned and for the rave and price, am absolutely disappointed in their seat comfort.

It would really help to know if you want a hang-on or climber. Usually comfort = heavier stand.
I use a Millenium ground seat for turkey hunting and the comfort is unbelievable. However, I don't have one of their stands, because they are heavy and I have heard that they make noise.
My Summit 180 is very comfortable, but bulky and heavy (in my opinion).
My Guido's Web is probably the best balance of comfort, quietness, shootablilty and weight. Gotta have sticks or some other means to get up the tree, though.

If you want lightweight, comfortable, and is great for archery or gun hunting, I would give a serious look at Guido's Web. It is 10 lb or less, depending on what size your order. It is absolutely comfortable for all day sits. You can shoot almost all the way around the tree (and there are tricks to make it even easier). You wear it like a backpack, so it feels like 5 lbs. I just have pre-set ladders or use Lone Wolf climbing sticks or bolts in pre-drilled holes to get up the tree. Many people dismiss these type of stands (tree saddle, too), because you face the tree. Once I got used to it, I absolutely prefer it. I now feel naked it I have to sit with my back to the tree and nothing to conceal me from approaching deer.
I do realize that this type of stand is NOT preferred by the majority of hunters, and that's okay. I don't get my feelings hurt if someone likes to do something different than myself. I just thought you might appreciate a different perspective from someone who has tried just about every type of stand out there.

Millennium loc-on treestand and Summit Titan with the wrap around seat are the most comfortable stands imo.

Just recently bought a lone wolf sit and climb. Definitely much better than summits as far as packing in a long distance. They are awesome to climb with too but the seat is definitely not comfortable enough to be an all day stand. Summits are more comfortable but I still like the portability of the lone wolf.

I almost exclusively use my climber (Summitt Viper with surround seat), and I have no problem on stand till after 5 hours or so (and only if no excitement). I get to my tree early (usually up in by 5:30am) and sit till it gets light enough to see pretty well. Then I'll stand for an hour or 2.....then sit some more.....I try to not move around too much, but find I have to a little to stick it out till noon or so. The Viper has been great and I've been using mine for 8-9 years or more.

The best suggestion I can make is to try as many different brand/model stands that you can and then make your decision which one fits you and your style of hunting. Comfort is paramount.

I have two old style Summts climbers and an assortment of ladders and lock ons. The hanging sling style inflatable seats of the old Summit climbers are very comfortable and I can move the seat forward a bit and lounge back to change positions. The seat portion of climbers can also be adjusted to change the angle of how the stand is positioned on the tree. This can also provide more of a lounge chair position for the hunter if that is what he likes.

Millinium has got to be the most comfortable stand ever made, however, I don't care for the platform or the way it attaches to the tree.

I severely broke my back a few years ago and can't really sit in anything comfortably for more than a few hours. That being said, I have close to 20 full day sits already this year. Most in my treewalker and a few in my millennium.

The platform on the millennium is plenty big imo. The only issue I have with it is I need to brace myself with my hands to stand up because the seat drops down so low, but god is it comfortable. Love my treewalker even more though. Mysummits haven't been out of the basement for years...
