I have looked at the Muck website in order to figure out which model of Muck boots I want but from looking at pictures and reading descriptions I have no idea. I live in the Midwest and first off I want a good sole that won't be slick. I have a buddy who has a pair and he slides all over the place when it is wet going up and down muddy hills. I would like to be able to wear them in summer and early fall possibly even in winter. Any advice as to what model or further questions let me know.

Fieldblazer's are perfect for summer to early fall. I even use them through the winter with some heavy wool socks. Early season i use a thin liner sock and for walk to treestand, not too hot or cold plus great hill climbing tread.

The Fieldblazers are the ones I believe my buddy has and he slips and slides all over the place. The Wetland and the Woody Elite look similar with what appears the main difference being extra insulation. Does that sound correct?

My Elites are true to their size. They are you best choice for just one pair I have the Elites and Field Blazers for early season. I wore my Elites early season prior to buying Field Blazers and they are not overly hot but are ten times warmer in the cold and do have a much better tread.

I wear a 9.5 in most sneakers and normally order a size 10 in hunting boots. I ended up getting a size 11 in Mucks BUT I have a hard time with rubber boots because my feet are wide. Before I tried mine on I know most people said to order your regular size or a 1/2 size up if you are a half size. I wear 2 pairs of socks most of the time.

For starters, I honeatly think you should get off the muck web site. Look at the sole. If your buddy is sliding all over the place, look for a different boot or tread pattern. Both pair of mucks I've had have wound up in the burn barrel.

I am pretty sure that my buddies boots are the Trailblazers and want to stay away from that model. What was it that you didn't like about your Muck boots? Which models did you have? What boot would you recommend?

hard to have just one pair. have low cuts for hanging around camp and yard work , high tops for tromping in the woods,, cant beat the ankle high boots for easy slip on while standing. not sure about the traction know they have different tread patterns. my biggest tip is wear merino socks with them especially in summer. wear mine all summer in se ga which is always hot and muggy.......

I would suggest the muck masters. I believe they have about the highest rubber outside of all the muck boots, but any of them with a higher rubber outside is your best bet. This will keep the boots waterproof a lot longer.
