My Girlfriend wants to learn how to shoot.

What is a good type of release to start someone out with?

I only use Back Tension Releases. (Carter Colby Hinge and Stan 3 finger).

I am hesitant to start her with one of those. It would definitely turn her off from shooting if she punches herself in the mouth because she happened to pull it back wrong.

Any Suggestions?

Thanks

Hand held, no wrist releases, and make it something cheap in case she changes her mind.

Spigarelli do a cheap-and-nasty that is very tweakable, the only fault being detectable trigger travel if you set it too heavy.

Jeff,

Carter Target3 or Fits Me would be my two recommendations. Medium to heavy springs in either - at least heavy enough that she can lightly rest her thumb around the trigger w/o fear that it will go off before she is ready.

Ditto -- Carter Fits Me is a great release for smaller hands.
