I am starting to do a lot of my own work on my bows and was wondering which serving material is/works best for tying in peeps. There seems to be a lot of choices so any input would be appreciated.

I just got my d-loop and peep tying material from her, you can't go wrong. Great service and to boot all she is fast at shipping. I highly recommend her:darkbeer: .

We've been using Halo in .018 for almost everything involving accessory serving. We have a fast production shop where speed and professional appearance is very important. Halo is easy to work with, and finish serves very easily. Everything we've done with Halo will last the life of the string. Good stuff.

I would say the best is BCY Halo or Brownell Crown. I usually don't tie in peeps but construct two slider servings and slide them towards the peep. I have never had any trouble with them moving. I use Brownell 3D for this. The #4 Nylon would work as well as Dental Floss, too.

Yeah, I do it like DEEZLIN, I have a slider above and below the peep.

Being flat, the dental floss will end up being tighter and harder to slide than round serving thread. Sometimes thats good, sometimes thats bad.

With floss, I tie overhand knotts... one on one side then the next on the opposite side etc. about 3/16" long.

With round serving thread, I fold the thread in half, take the "U" shaped end and stick it about 2" past the string, reach through the loop and grab the tag end from the other side of the string and pull it through the loop and sinch it tight on the string. Repeat for about 3/16" again and finish it with a square knott. You'll find this method ten times faster than the opposing overhand knott method most poeple use.
