I wondered if anyone ties whiskers on the bus cables. I have done it for a couple of years. I trim them to a small diameter....like a gum ball. Just make note of where the cables pass and allow a for the whiskers touching. They will help quiet your bow a bit and keep the strings from "twang'in".:cool:

whiskers on buss cables

qkdraw,I tie them on top and bottom. The cable guide puts tension on both sides of the cable as it passes through it. Each end twangs like a guitar string. So I tie on both sides. Quiets it down and no twang from either cable.

Seems there ain't too many people de-twang'in the bus cables. Just another way I tend not to be normal.:rolleyes:

Absolutely a great way to quiet the bow. Now that a guy is trading for my flyfishing stuff a 46 lb recurve, I may not have to tie anything to cables that no longer exist tho.(except on my Xi---NEVER get rid of that bow).
