Hi, my friend shoot a whitetail deer with a strange behavior.

He notice that there was some area on his private land with Marijuanas (common thing in Québec with bikers gang who put marijuana plants everywhere) and it seem that the whitail deer was eating it.

Do you think it can influence their behavior?

You must have ate too many of them brownies Jones

A spitless, lazy deer, that's funny. I am not a pothead but from my younger years I was told that wild growing ditch weed that can polinate is rather harmless. I doubt it affects a deer with who knows how much higher metabolism rate then humans. But I guess if it does it could put Biologic out of buisness.

my girlfriends lil brother is a pot head, and he swalloed about an oucne one time when he got pulled over.. he got stoned REAL quick, and it lasted about the same amount of time. I would say the same would happen to a deer.. i bet those deer are stoned as hell, and will just stare at you, you should go and see if you could kill one with a knife.. :)

I guess you know what kind of smoldering "Scent Sticks" to use next season. Try explaining THAT one to the C.O.:p

Wow, that's really interesting! I haven't heard of whitetail deers eating marijuana before. It's possible that it could be influencing their behavior, but without more information, it's hard to say for sure. I would definitely recommend checking out seed banks for more information on marijuana and its effects on animals. It would also be good to keep an eye on the deer population in that area to see if there are any noticeable changes. I am always open to new ways of increasing the population and marijuana can be a nice tool to do that, even though it is unconventional.

Not sure if you noticed, but this discussion is almost 20 years old. It was started and concluded....until this morning....in the fall of 2003. If you look next to the post #, the date of the prior comments are given. Since the time this tread originated, many states in the USA have decriminalized marajuana use and allowed licenced pot shops to operate under state guidelines. Whether whitetail or mule deer could become high by ingesting pot is the area of expertise of wild game biologists or even a veterinarian.
